Burial

Why do families choose a burial?

Many families choose burial as an option because it provides a physical place to honor and remember a loved one. Visiting this physical location can bring comfort and peace when mourning, whether that is days or years after your loved one's death. For some, there is also a sense of closeness and connection felt when visiting the burial site of a loved one which can help with healing.

Visitation

A visitation, also known as a wake, is often the first opportunity for family and friends to gather together after the death of a loved one. This is a time to share wonderful memories of the deceased, express condolences to their family and find comfort when surrounded by family and friends. A visitation can take place at one of our locations, but it can also be held at a church, in a family member's home or at another location that was important to the deceased.

Funeral

A funeral service takes place after the visitation and is another time where family and friends come together, reflect on the life of the deceased and remember the love that they shared. A funeral service can be held in a variety of locations including a church, a funeral home or a location that was special to the deceased and their family.

Burial

The burial, also known as a committal service, is when the deceased is carefully and lovingly brought to their final resting place after the funeral or memorial service. Family and friends gather for a brief service and the casket or urn holding the deceased are placed in its final resting place. This is also a time when beautiful and colorful flowers are placed upon the casket or around the burial site.
