Mrs. Ruth M. (Austin) Conley, formerly of Arlington, died Wednesday in a local nursing home after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Arthur C. Conley. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Josephine (Keefe) Austin. She was raised in Somerville and lived in Arlington from 1948 until 2007. She was a 1935 graduate of Burdette College. A homemaker, Ruth enjoyed plays, musicals and movies. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed word games. For the past three years, she received wonderful care from the staff at the Aviv Centers for Living.
She is survived by her son David Conley and his wife Randi of Middleton, her daughter Judith Conley of Belmont, as well as her brother-in-law James Conley and his wife Mary of Kensington, MD. She was predeceased by her friend of 80 years, Lois McKinnon.
A remembrance event will be held later this month.
