Josephine (Marcone) Todaro, of Peabody, formerly of Marblehead and New York City died August 29, 2009 at the age of 89. Beloved Mother and Grandmother she was a retired language teacher and department head at James Monroe High School in NYC. A lover of the arts, a violinist and linguist, who spoke five languages, Josephine Todaro was an extensive international traveler and an avid fan of opera. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Todaro Stubbs of Marblehead, James Douglas Todaro of Italy, her beloved grandsons Brendan Stubbs of Chicago, and Christopher Stubbs of Marblehead and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, September 5 at 10AM at Our Lady, Star of the Sea Church in Marblehead. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.
