Mr. John F. Chappie, 69 years of Lynn, died on Saturday January 9, 2010 in Union Hospital after a brief illness. He is the husband of Mrs. Marjorie E. (Wilkes) (Malo) Chappie. He was born in Somerville, the son of the late John J., .Jr. and Florence E. (Young) Chappie. He was raised in Saugus and was a graduate of Saugus High School. He has lived the past 40 years in Lynn.
John enjoyed playing darts, his trips to Foxwoods and all sports. He was a Little League coach and also coached women's softball. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast.
John was employed as a maintenance supervisor for Kings Lynne Apartments in Lynn for 15 years, prior to that he was a baker at Dunkin Donuts on Western Avenue in Lynn.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared 30 years together he leaves two daughters, Karen (Malo) Grome and her husband Gary of Brockport, NY and Leanne Malo of Lynn 3 grandchildren, Olivia and Matthew Grome of Brockport, NY and Leah Malo of Lynn, a brother , Stephen Chappie of Springhill, FL. He also leaves four children from a previous marriage and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at 7:30 PM in the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rte 129) Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Cremation in Harmony Grove Crematory will be private. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM .Donations may be made in John F.
